Baby Birds

Just outside the top corner of our front door some birds built a nest. We used a mirror to be able to see the eggs and take a pic around the middle of May; now they've hatched. We got to get a little glimpse of them. SO COOL! Our camera broke since the eggs so I had to use my camera phone which makes the birds hard to see...tried to outline them so you can see a little easier. We could see 3 of them and a little bit of a tail in back. (hopefully we can get our camera fixed here soon!)

Mom's 60th

I want to say thank you to everyone for making my Mom's birthday so special! She was completely surprised when she arrived at her OWN house to find her living room full guests ready to celebrate with her. I also want to thank you all very much for blessing her with all of the stories, memories, sentiments (and laughs!) we were able to put together in the "memory book" for her. We captured her reaction on video. I think she read all of the ones from people that were able to attend the party and then later read all the rest, although those ones didn't end up on video. I tried to edit a little, but was having too much trouble trying to figure out what to take out, so it's pretty much all there. It's just under 25 minutes. She's told me she has already read it a few times since the party, and is blessed each time! Thank you all very much! I know she will treasure it for many years to come!

Zach's B-day Bash

Kudos to Dennisa! She had a really neat idea for Zach's surprise 30th birthday party! Everyone had to dress up as a rock star, musician. singer, etc from the last 30 years. I know we enjoyed dressing up! It was pretty fun! David went as Roy Orbison Sr. which looked amazingly real! Kind of scary. And Elijah as Roy Orbison-the junior version, although his hair ended up being too thick and too short to slick back so he was mistaken for one of the Blues Brothers. Zach and Zeke actually were the Blue Brothers. Very Cute! We also had a very MODEST Cher. Originally, I made Eliya's black pants with a 'skin' colored patch on each cheek, which put our Cher in tears at the thought of looking like her buns were sticking out! Our Cindy Lauper was a dead ringer! Naomi and Cindy Lauper both definitely have their own style. And because everyone tells me I look like Cher, I had no choice but to go as. . .the artist, formerly known as Prince! Gotta shake things up a bit! Katy Perry, Dennisa, was seen with one of the Blues Brothers as well as the 'Village People". I think KISS was spotted too, but no pic. And who was that wild rocker with the electric guitar?!?! Abi, the Princess, was seen hob-nobbing with the various rockers. Great cake, too! "Let the music play!"

Naomi's Birthday

Naomi had family members and a couple of special friends over for her birthday this year. One more year and she'll be the big 10! Ahh! Anyway, 9 for now!!! Whew. :D This year instead of a typical birthday cake we tried something a little different and extra special! We had orange slices sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar topped with sherbert flambe'! It would have been more dramatic if we could have lit them a little later in the evening, but we all still enjoyed it. Praising God for our big girl. We love you!
